Britney Spears (her middle name is Jean) was born on December 2, 1981, in a sourthern town of Kentwood, Louisiana. Britney Spears started performing at an early age, first in local stage productions and church choirs. Later on, Spears began working in national television commercials of off Broadway plays. At the age of 11, Britney Spears was on two seasons of the Mickey Mouse Club. In 1994, Spears went to an audition for an all girl singing group. She eventually won a solo recording contract with Jive Records.
